How to protect your ears
- Keep your outer ears clean and dry. A little soap and warm water on a clean washcloth are all you need. Dry your ears carefully with a soft towel.
- Do not put anything smaller than an elbow in your ears, as it is easy to injure either the ear canal or even the eardrum, leading to infection. The earwax itself cleans your ears and protects them from dust
- Cover your ears in extreme cold the ears can get frostbite.
- Protect your hearing from very loud noise. Turn down the volume when listening to music and wear ear plugs if you work in a noisy environment. Once the hairs of the inner ear are damaged it is permanent.
- Never forget to protect the delicate skin on your outer ear when sunbathing, use a high factor sunscreen.
